An LTE equipped Kindle Fire HD 8.9 makes its way to Ma’ Bell. Anyone remember Amazon’s take on tablets? The Kindle Fire HD 8.9 is looking for a bit of re-launch by getting in bed with At&t’s LTE. The original Kindle Fire was launched back in 2011 and shortly their after Amazon took its success and launched a new line of Fires. Last year Amazon launched the Kindle Fire HD, the Kindle Fire 2 and the Kindle Fire HD 8.9. While the tablets are pretty great in their own respect it looks like Amazon is teaming up with At&t to add a new flavor of Fire to the masses.
Today At&t and Amazon have announced a new home for the Kindle Fire HD 8.9 LTE. Ma’ Bell will be launching the tablet in four days on April 5th for about $250 bucks! While the carrier will offer many data packages, you can get 4G LTE to the Kindle Fire for as low as $10 bucks a month. So what will you get from the hardware? The Kindle Fire HD 8.9 starts with the likes of Android version 4.0 and gives its users access via an 8.9 inch touch screen that offers up a 1920×1200 pixel resolution at 254 pixels per inch. Internally the Kindle Fire HD 8.9 comes with a more than capable TI OMAP4470 system chip that packs in a dual core 1.5 GHz ARM Cortex A9 processor as well as a PowerVR SGX544 GPU and 1 GB of RAM. The Fire HD 8.9 also sports 32 GB or 64GB of built in storage. It also packs in a front facing camera that clocks a 1.3 mega pixel sensor for all your video calling needs.
